A személyes levélből az derül ki, hogy hajamra kenhetem, hiszen értsem már meg végre, hogy leégett a gyár, és csak korlátozott számban tudják szállítani az 5800-ast. Az UK-ben később kerül forgalomba, a hazai viszonyokat ismerve, csak a magyar forgalmazásra alapozva soha nem lesz nekem normális aksim.
Viszont bíztató, amit a fórumon írnak az angol sorstársak, úgy várjuk a hivatalos ASUS nyilatkozatot, mint pusztai nép a kőtáblát, remélem, a plebs részére is elfogadható törvénykönyv lesz, számomra ez a 10fontos csere bár bonyolult levezényelni, de méltányolható. Addig is, táncoljunk a bikaszobor körül!

The 4400mAH(2.2mAH, 4 cells) is the default standard battery pack for ASUS eeePC 900 worldwide, and the 2.2mAH battery cell is the most commonly used battery pack available in the market
However, as you might know, there is worldwide serious shortage for the Li-ion battery pack, this also causes serious shortage on ASUS eeePC delivery. Therefore ASUS have tried to get all the high quality batteries available in the market for eeePC production. We got some small quantities of new 5800mAH(2.9mAH, 4cells)battery pack from our vendor. But the supply quantity of this new 2.9mAH battery cell is too small to fulfill the total demand from the market. Thus, we only sell this 5800mAH battery pack to very limited countries with limited quantities
They may become available for individual sale in the UK later in the year but may already be in Hungary. You will need to check this with the Hungarian resellers.

According to Mobile Computer, ASUS have released a statement regarding the low capacity 4400mAh batteries supplied with the EEE PC 900 model in the UK, which yield a total life of around two hours on a full charge, depending on what the machine is doing.
Effectively, ASUS are to provide an upgrade path. This follows a concerted effort by eeeuser.com forum members, led by user shade360, to lobby ASUS for a battery replacement. The downside is that there is a nominal cost involved (£10 + VAT) and the original 4400 mAh battery has to be returned, but at least UK 900 owners can now opt to enjoy the full 900 experience, as the replacement batteries will be the proper 5800mAh rated items.
According to the press release, “ASUS will release information regarding the detailed procedure in a few days and anticipate the battery purchase service commencing from 10th June 2008.”
